Description

Alexandria was abandoned at the shelter when she was only 6 weeks old. She was feral and had never been shown any kindness. After being stuck outside hungry and terrified for days, we finally caught her and put her in a quiet cage so she could relax. After a couple weeks, she finally let us pet her and started to purr. We have been working with her for awhile now and she is starting to become more comfortable and trusting. She is still tense when it comes to being picked up, but she will greet you at the door with purrs and tiny meows now!

Alexandria needs an experienced home with someone who will have the time and patience to teach her how to be loved. She would do best in a quiet home because she is easily startled and will take awhile to adjust to her new surroundings.

Did you know solid black cats and dogs are always the hardest to find homes for? Although love is blind, the shelter is always overrun with these black beauties. Please ask about our discounted adoption fees for black pets! Also, Alexandria is currently roommates with Andrea. They can be adopted separately, but we offer a special discounted adoption fee for the pair together!

Alexandria is also a great canidate to be fostered to help her get the socialization skills she needs to grow into a strong, confident cat. For more details, please email felines.bchs@gmail.com or call the shelter at 812-372-6063.
